To achieve the best results and minimize risks, it is essential to follow these pre-treatment guidelines:

• Avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before and during your treatment plan. Sun exposure increases the risk of burns, blisters, and pigmentation changes, such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening) or hypopigmentation (lightening).
• Do not use artificial tanning products before treatment, as the pigments may interfere with the laser’s effectiveness. On the day of your appointment, ensure the treatment area is clean and free of makeup, lotions, and self-tanners.
• Arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for your initial consultation and to complete all necessary paperwork. This also gives us time to perform a full assessment of your skin condition.
• Following these steps will help ensure a safe and effective PicoWay laser treatment experience.

Post-Treatment Care

After receiving your PicoWay laser treatment, the treated area may feel warm and appear slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. This is a normal reaction and typically lasts between 2 to 12 hours, but in some cases may persist for up to 48 hours. If symptoms continue beyond this timeframe, please contact us for further guidance.

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Your skin is sensitive after the procedure. Avoid direct sun exposure and always use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when going outside.
• Avoid Irritating Products: Stop using products with acids (AHA, BHA, retinoids), whitening agents, or exfoliants temporarily.
• Do Not Rub or Scratch Treated Areas: If scabbing occurs, do not pick at it. Let it fall off naturally.
• Avoid Makeup for at Least 24 Hours: If peeling or wounds are present, delay makeup use until the skin stabilizes. Avoid exposure to heat and humidity—refrain from hot showers, baths, swimming, spa use, saunas, or intense exercise for at least 48 hours. If the area still feels warm or inflamed, extend this avoidance period until symptoms subside.
• Apply a soothing gel to the treated area morning and night for 7 consecutive days. This essential post-care product offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal benefits to help calm and protect the skin.
• Reapply the soothing gel as needed throughout the day to keep the area hydrated and comfortable.
